Punisher's remix of AntiChance is nothing but ordinary click clack minimal with some bubbly sounds surfacing here and there, and a deep bass. The original, however, is massive. Erratic, mechanical, with plenty knob tweaks and filter tricks to screw with you, plus a completely broken and off-beat structure, all painted over with a rusty industrial feel. Al the way awkward and atypical, plus it slowly transforms into a four by four thumper loaded with distortions and dirty sound effects. I love it, my type of sound! The B side starts with a remix by a promising act, Jesse Somfay. He goes back to the subtler and minimal realms, but what a track it is. Really deep and warm, with a cool hypnotic, analog lead sequence bordering acid, on top of a pummeling bass. Very minimal and laid back, but done in a such a smooth way, very hard not to like. Around the four minute mark the acid steadily gains in space and volume, becoming more audiable and piercing, together with the up to then very bleak percussion. The last track, the original version of Nihil, stays in touch more with A2. Broken beats and bleeping hooks, with plenty glitches and other weird sounds. Kind of reminds me of the Be Like I Am track by the British Murder Boys, just more disturbing, and with more deck and filter wizardry applied. It's not a number for frequent spins - too sinister and far out to earn its place in many situations.
