Notes

First Choice is back in rare form with some incredibly rockin remixes by Ian Carey. "Armed and Extremely Dangerous" features the stellar vocals of Rochelle Flemming along with all the original Philly sound instrumentation that defined an era. Ian has brought this Classic bang up to date and graciously provided a vocal, dub and an accappella. Don't miss the Original Mix for some serious 70's action. Philly Groove is on a roll and the Philly Sound lives on with First Choice.

The remixes are rather rubbish and don't excite or impress at all. The Accapella has been slowed down so much it sounds like a man is singing! (It needs more than the + 8 that a 1200/1210 will do to correct this stupid error and pointless logic foolishly justified as the Ian Carey mix no, not a mix, just drastically slowed down). The real plus and is THE MUST HAVE for this 12" is the full unedited original version (in stereo) on the B side. This is the only place that this can be found or heard. The track was edited down for a 7" single release (not sure if the Red Philly Groove USA release is stereo, the UK Bell equivalent is sadly and needlessly very very much mono as most of the UK Bell 7" singles were......tip look at the German Bell 7" singles most are stereo! Why the edited mix was cut for the album (of the same name, but at least in stereo) beggers belief or logic. Naturally there has never been mention of this full version to my knowledge. One other odd point is the lack of mention of Vince's vibes or his performance on the album sleeve notes, and that the vibes (which to me form a vital part to the over-all Philly Groove sound etc etc) are so so low and way down in the mix both this full one and the edited one, if you listen to the mono 7" mix you can't really hear or notice any vibes on the track! This is a MUST HAVE for everyone and to savour the first time hearing that full unedited original version is pure magic and worth every last penny! Trust me! I'm a man who knows.
