Blueshaper
I picked up this record when DMC still had an office on Broadway in Manhattan. I was rummaging through their catalogue and probably snatched this because of the Full Intention and Hex Hector remixes. But the true jewel of this record is Jimmy Gomez's remix of Life, Love and Happiness. Quite simply, this is ranked way up there in the best House vocal releases of all time. Wonderful vocals and superb lyrics on top of such a dynamic progression throughout the track, you never get tired of the nearly 14 minute track. Gomez is a true genius of a sound engineer, and I'm sad that (a) he's not recognized more and (b) haven't seen him produce new work (at least in the house arena) for a while now. I gave up DJing about 10 years ago to go back to college, and this track was the final track I played on my last night out; with about 50 of my best friends/customers/fellow DJs there, I couldn't have picked a better track to end my five-year, admittedly only amateur pursuit in nightclub DJing.
