Tolrajas
The Haji & Emanuel Remix of "Empty Streets" is a masterpiece. This is what I call a House/Progressive House/Trance-hybrid. Think of Tiesto's remix of "Southern Sun" as a blueprint, but slower. The percussion is funky/housy with a groovy bassline and has a "closed" character (compared with most of nowadays Minimal Tech House and Nu Disco tracks, with their often stripped down, "empty" character), the soundscapes are rich (the trancy thing) and it is a bit commercial but also for the clubs. It also has a nice balearic feeling, sad and optimistic at once. Good lyrics and a good female singer, too.The other three versions are very, very good, too. The Album Mix is a smooth dubby Deep House track (reminds me of some remixes of the Naked Music label), the Aurora Remix is similar to the Haji & Emanuel version but more on the Trance side, the Kaskade Remix is more on the House (Hed Kandi) side.Funny thing is that these four sides of the House/Trance sound almost disappeared in the past few years, at least from the vinyl market.
