This is a great re-issue of the soundtrack. The record comes in a paper sleeve with a plastic lining, and the outer case is enclosed in a plastic envelope-style sleeve with a 'At the Movies' sticker holding the flap closed. This release is very professionally packaged. I honestly love that I got this release and not the Record Store Day release. My only gripe is that the cover is glossy and the scan on it of the old cover is a little smeary looking. You can tell this especially with some of the new logos put on the back. Still, I really like this release. An excellent release. (Oh, and it sounds great.)

I have a UK on Epic label same cover and back photo EPC 70302

I'm a little shocked at how quickly this dropped in price. I saw it retailed for $37.99 and $39.99 at most stores, and yet discogs has already had two people sell for $20 and $25 respectively. Was 5,000 copies really so much as to glut the market? (This is the first year after the last three where I didn't go out for RSD and I'm shocked to see the one item I wanted plummet so much)

Anyone know if the pressing number is etched or stamped on the record? Most RSD limited pressings tell you what number you got on the back panel. Mine's sealed and don't want to open it yet. :)
Naktilar
No numbering.

I will check when I get home.

Looks like I have the only 2014 release that isn't on blue vinyl! It's black.

Windsinger Looks like I have the only 2014 release that isn't on blue vinyl! It's black. No, I have the black vinyl release too. I NEED the blue one, though.

If you grew up in the 1980's or the 1990's, you are bound to remember the Original Transformers Toys and Cartoon Shows (now called Generation One/G1 by fans), that were immensly popular. If you like cheesy hair metal, Synthesiser-ey Intstrumentals and even "Weird Al" Yankovic , you are in the right place! The Transformers Movie (the animated one, not that newfangled live action one!) was released in 1986, and is best remembered for the controversal decicion to kill off the main hero Autobot Leader Optimus Prime, and other characters, and it's superb voice cast including Orson Welles, Eric Idle, Robert Stack, Lennord Nemoy etc. Enough of the movie and on with the soundtrack! While the Hair-Metal tunes like "The Touch" are very catchy, they are quite dated and cheesy, and will probably not so much appeal to a contempory audience, however, the instrumental tracks by Vince DiCola are excellent, and fits the film really well. The track at the end by Weird Al is priceless. Transform and Roll Out!
