At last!!! I finally got this much-anticipated and limited edition sophomore studio CD album of Ms. Sharyn Maceren's NIGHTTIME LAND. I bought it online @ Planet Hype (I feel so special when someone gave me a special CD [Dreams Remixed] which I never expected to receive though I'm just asking for the availability, you know who you are and you're the BEST!). I played it many times and I would love to share my thoughts why I love this album and rated it (after many attempts to leave a review but I failed because of my hectic schedules at work). 1.) In My Nighttime Land 3:53 - This album title track really haunts me with its melody and satisfy my listening senses as I play it very loud while dancing. The lyrics were beautifully written and I love its trance rhythm. I just love thinking of having a dream in a nighttime land while partying with Sharyn. This should have release as a CD Maxi single with jam-packed remixes done by different DJs just like M:G's single Aphrodisiac. 10/10 2.) Don'tcha Know 3:31 - One of my favorite songs on this album because it's freestyling and I could think of different dance steps. I love the bass background as well. 9/10 3.) Boys Will Be Boys 3:51 - This song was so similar to Britney Spears because of the intro tune of "I'm A Slave 4 U". This is funky to listen with it's hip hop beats. 8/10 4.) U Love Me Good 4:13 - I love this track because in your dreams you can still actually feel good to be loved by your ex-lover though in reality you're both very far apart. 10/10 5.) Want It Want It 3:14 - It's a weekend tribal dance track which will make you groove. Perfect for weekend parties or summer getaway vacations. 9/10 6.) Connected 4:54 - I love this song especially the intro where people translates "You're listening to Nighttime Land by Sharyn Maceren" in different languages such as German, French, Tagalog, etc. This song is also related to the social networks like Friendster. And now we have MySpace and then Twitter. Who would have thought Sharyn makes a real good song for her fans (just like me) who wants to get connected and support her. 10/10 7.) Sweetest Days 3:35 - This song is perfect for those lovers who loves going out of town and enjoying their vacation to the fullest. Very breezy feeling while listening to it. Very positive and lively song, great sound production! 10/10 8.) Can U Wait 3:54 - This is the lead single and my most favorite track. This is so relating for those individuals who had previously broke-up with their girlfriend/boyfriend and knowing that there's someone who was deeply in love and . This track reminds us that there's no need to hurry for love, it will finds a way to get close and stay in your heart. My favorite versions of this single are the "Rally Remix" and "Extended Mix" (how I wish Planet Hype could grant us an access to buy her music via iTunes here in the Philippines). 10/10 9.) Love Songs 2:28 - This ballad track was really good to listen because the blending of Sharyn's voice was balanced. It shows the story of how relationship starts and that is playing a love song. There's a part of the lyric "..but it's solemn now", which made me think that it's only a reminisce of how you were enjoying the moment together while your lover does the love song played (either guitar or piano). Sharyn unleashes her great voice in singing this track. She really shines. 9/10 10.) Hope 3:56 - This song was definitely a worthwhile listening for everyone. Not just for those people who died in 9/11 tragedy but for those people who have lost their loved-ones in anyway. When I first heard it, believe me - it's really a haunting but inspirational song. It should have an official music video for this while Sharyn sings for it. 9/10 11.) Mate To My Soul 3:30 - This is a fast-paced song which is suitable to listen while you're driving in a car. Even add this song for a movie soundtrack that involves car-racing. 8/10 12.) Sweet Nothings 4:10 - One of my favorite songs cause it reminds me of the early freestyle songs in 80's (maybe when I was in 4 or 5 years old) and I heard the track Supersonic. It really made me dance a lot with this Extended Version. This song is dedicated to all people who have their own crushes but they are hesitate to show what's inside their heart. 10/10 13.) Up In My Room 4:06 - This song was made for party addicts. I love the break beats on the latter part. This should have it remixed by great DJs like Joe Grandberg and Thunderpuss. 9/10 14.) Come To Me 4:32 - This song was surprising cause on the latter part it made me think that the style of this music was similar to Justin Timberlake's "Like I Love You". 9/10 15.) Gonna Give (Bonus Track) 3:37 - An inspirational song for those who perished caused by Hurricane Katrina. Reminding us that if a person who risk everything especially his/her life just to save his/her loved ones from a life-threatening situation shows his/her bravery, faithfulness and unconditional love. 10/10 16.) Wishlist (Bonus Track) 3:37 - One of my favorite dance tracks of this album because of it's signature beats just like from her previous album. We must not forget that there's still uptempo tracks on this album ever since "You're Not Ready" and this recent one "Can U Wait" like this one. This song tells Sharyn's greatest wish is true love despite of fancy cars or anything. 10/10 17.) Sharyn Uncovered 2 (Bonus Track) 6:50 - This song uncovers a medley of never before released and her next potential hits (hope it will be released in full-length of her third album) such as "Here In My Arms", "No One Is You" and "Sprung". Sharyn's really an exceptional song writter knowing that when there's melody running through her mind she can easily compose a special song. The only thing that I'm lacking to listen this track is that I never heard just a few seconds for medley song "Connected" as what is stated on her CD Album inlay booklet. 7/10 Anytime, whenever I'm bored and doing nothing, I just play this CD album and I feel energized because of the uniqueness of this music. Sharyn has made a great job well-done to this album because of her hard work and through Glenn Gutierrez's production. So I'm looking forward for more Nighttime Land chapter of her music career (that is to anticipate for her junior album with some collaborations like Angelina or M:G) in the future. More power Sharyn!!!
