Hugighma
Of all Hague beat bands who stand up in the 1960s, Q65 by far the roughest. Not only the music is wild and unpolished, also their riotous group behavior with much drug use, speaks to the imagination. Soon they are known as ' the Dutch Pretty Things '. Behind the scenes keeping talented young producers as Hans van Hemert and Peter Koelewijn lefgozers busy themselves with the Hague. The single "The Life I Live (1966) is the highlight in the work of the group. It is not for nothing decades later by muziekkrant OOR awarded ' best Dutch single ever '. With the stunt that accompanies the release of this picture (the band speed so-called with a rubber boat from England to Netherlands) retrieves the Q the front pages of all newspapers. By quarrels, conscription and problems with justice, the band in 1974 apart. Remarkably, the bassist Peter Vink is that after the break as the only remains successful, in groups as Finch and The Boxx. Singer Wim Bieler died in 2000 at the age of 53 on a cardiac arrest.
