"Black Past" is Terminal Choice's first, and by far the only EBM album, featuring no rock/metal tracks. Sure, there was "Khaosgott", but that was an EP, not a full album. The album was limited only to 1000 copies. That's a shame, because in my opinion, this is one of TC's best masterpieces. The first song, "No paradise" is catchy and is a very good beggining to the album. But true mayhem begins with the next song, "Creatures". This song is really dark, i would even compare the lyrics to those of Black Metal scene bands. "Kill Them All" has a great verse, but the chorus is really rushed. They gave too many too complex sound effects, and the result unfortunetly is a total chaos. The next song is pretty mediocre "The evil command". While the lyrics in this one are generally dark, the sound itself lacks something, that for example earlier mentioned "Creatures" did really well. "Life Full of Tragedy" encounters the same problem "Kill Them All" did, but here it turns out to be much worse. The lyrics are pretty weak too. This song is in my opinion the weakest one on the album. Next up is the great "Necromantic Lover" , which features an atmospheric soundtrack with lyrics, that intentionally sound disturbing. However, this song is really humorous in some ways. "Die Ewigkeit" is an instrumental track, so i don't really have much to say about it, apart that it is really atmospheric. " Digital Terror" is a bit minimalistic, but very good, catchy tune, in my opinion it's the best song on the album. Next song is "Kiss you". That song is one of the better ones on the album, probably my 2nd favourite. " The End of the Human Race" is dark, atmospheric and has really smart lyrics. It's also the shortest track on this album. The problems featured in this song encounters everyone, but not everyone understands the importance of changing the way the world works. "When I Close My Eyes" is the saddest track on the album and the sound is very soft. It is a quick break between the brutal, dark lyrics, although it tells about losingsomebody important. "Klaustrophobia" was earlier featured on a demo, but here it isn't much worse then the rest of the album. The last track on the album is powerful and dance-like "Death". Although the lyrics are dark, the song portrays them in a comical way, pretty much the way "Necromantic Lover" did.Terminal Choice's "Black Past" is a very good album, worth of recomendation to every Industrial/Ebm fan. Featuring catchy and dancelikes track, as "Death", but also the dark ones, such as " Klaustrophobia" or "Creatures" it will easily satisfy every taste.Lyrics: 8/10Music: 9/10Atmosphere: 9/10How many times i listened to whole album : 3Album length: About 1h5min.

Finding such a rarity at $6 in a used music store is amazing, but the talent on this release may be just as incredible. Chris Pohl's gothic style shows with the opener, "No Paradise", a great start to an interesting release. The gothic style continues into the macabre and evil-like "Creatures". The themes continue into the majestic sound of "Kill Them All" and the emo thoughts of "The Evil Command". Chris starts to go a little lighter with "Life Full Of Tragedy", "Necromantic Lover", and "When I Close My Eyes". But we return to the dark depths with the instrumental "Die Ewigkeit", "Klaustrophobia", and ending with the powerful piece, "Death". Overall, a great album of early works. If you find this (with its eye catching artwork) in your music store's used cd bins, you MUST pick it up.
