"I was unfamiliar with this artist, who draws heavily on field recordings for his work. The website describes his work thus: 'Rich textures are unfolding, stretching beyond their place of origin, thus creating a new space for them to breathe. The journey might start out in the forest, but listening carefully you will end up somewhere else that bears no resemblance to the sound source.' Sounds promising, so let's get to the music. It started off a bit slow, as 'Sclocean' opens with slow pounding percussion and little else, it then kicks into the heavy dark ambient soundscapes that will define the rest of the album with 'Fields of ZP.' Throughout the album, we have the sensation of watching as tectonic plates crunch together over a sea of primordial soup. Waves of drone wash over everything with just the right touches of noise. At times it gets a bit minimal ('Deep Guiana' and the first half of '(Shocked by) Forest') but overall, this is solid dark ambient work. This album weighs in at around 41 minutes."Chain D.L.K. - ( http://www.chaindlk.com/reviews/?id=8336 )

Needless to say that the first interesting thing I noticed was the name: Stefkovic van Interesse .A surname that sounds quite Dutch... Or, on second thought, German: van Interesse comes from Leipzig, Germany (I was tricked by the 'van').But apart from his name there's a lot more interesting to this debut album "In the Fields "...Over the years Stefkovic has built up a collection of field recordings, which are the starting point of building the tracks. But they are looped, edited, transformed and turned inside out, changing into elements that are no longer recognisable as field recordings at all. The result is a varied collection of otherworldly electronic soundscapes that sound refreshingly 'different' from most other.Which is quite a remarkable accomplishment for a debut album, if you ask me. Knowing that Van Interesse only started making music in 2007, I guess the future will bring some more surprises coming from him!"Get your best pair of headphones, close your eyes and think of it as an island to explore."-Ambientblog.net ( http://www.ambientblog.net/blog/2014-03-11/stefkovic-van-interesse-in-the-fields )
