Soustil
This is indeed Busy Bee and Jazzy Jay. They went out of town and pressed this record up themselves. DJ Red Alert started playing the Demo Tape, that would ultimately become this record, on his radio show in the summer of 1986. Red played the tape so much, I thought it was on vinyl. I did seek out this record back in 1986, only to realize later on that it was indeed a tape Red was playing. Early in 1987, though, my wish came true, when my boy mike at the music factory hooked me up with one of these. The story I got was this: Busy Bee was signed to a label that was in financial trouble, my guess is Sugarhill, or M-Low, and couldn't release this under his own name, for legal reasons. I heard he was waiting for one reason or another, and then just decided to press it up on his own without his name on the record. The catalouge number does stand for Busy Bee 1987, the year he would press up the record. I'm not sure why Busy Bee didn't release this record on Strong City records, since Jazzy Jay had ties to the label. Busy Bee would ultimately sign with Strong City later in 1987, and this track would re-surface on his debut LP "Running Thangs". The version on the LP is slightly diferent, making this record far more desirable!
