Look carefully at the uploaded photographs and it quickly becomes obvious the catalogue numbers on the spines of the digi-packs (WPCR-13131-13141) do not correspond with what is printed on the box itself (WPCR-13142-53). Most odd, and very careless of the counterfeiters!

Don’t feel bad Friend, I got duped as well. I bought a set on Amazon US and the fakes where identical to the minilps.net webpage. Right down to the sticker being wrong in shape, to the box being damaged! They all also had the etched symbol in the clear part of the cd, and the pronounced extra long protective insert sleeves, just as the website showed what to look for. This is one of the most counterfeited collections of these mini lp cds! I always buy from a few Japanese sellers I trust and one seller in Australia! He is expensive, but has hard to find titles if your trying to complete a Disk Union Box set. His empty promo boxes are really cheap though as well as authentic.I repurchased each one individually to get a true set! I also purchased a real box and the replica sleeves. I have a college friend who lives in Tokyo and he has been a good source for minis and promo sets. He is from the U.K. and has a business in Japan. He told me that counterfeiting these in Japan carries a long prison sentence. So I only buy from Japanese sellers with high ratings and feedback. I have bought a few from the US, and it’s really hard to sell these from the US as people are affraid of getting counterfeit copies! The best thing I have found to make these fakes better in quality is to download them to Apple iTunes , especially if you pay for Apple match ! It will give you a better quality sounding 24bit/44khz Apple format version which sounds better than these counterfeit copies! It’s still compressed , but sounds much better! Always buy these from a Japanese seller with a lot of positive feedback. As certain sets get harder to find, counterfeit copies start showing up! This was my first foray into SHM mini lp cds. Since this incident I have only received two individual disc that where counterfeit disc , one from the U.K. and one from Canada. I have a record shop in Austin that carries these occasionally and he calls me when he gets some in. I’ll look them over and usually buy the lot if they look like authentic copies. I got a really great 10 disc set of the 2007 HDCD set of Roxy Music’s catalog including the box from this seller for $135 USD. So. That was a great deal. One really great source for authentic titles is a site called CDJapan. They always have new releases and I’ve bought many of these little gems from them, much cheaper than auction sites sell them for. I wish Discogs would reconize these Promo Box sets for all artist! I have about 75 promo box sets , but I have to list them as individual CDs. It would be nice if the could figure out how to sell the Promo boxes as well.

(2013 edition) This are fake! (Chinese probably). The box was only released on Sept 10th, 2008 in Japan and November 4th, 2008 in the US. Never re-released or re-issued.

There is also a 2003 set of these disc as well starting with WPCR-11611. But you had to get the promo box from Disc Union when you bought the whole set from what I’ve been told! Not SHM either. Plus you have the same issue with Russian fakes. I’ve seen sellers I trust have this early box set, but have never handled a set personally. I got duped by purchasing a set on Amazon US and I still have them! I purchased a Defenative Set that’s authentic as well as purchasing the individual 40th anniversary set one or two disk at a time from reputable sellers and buying the box and additional sleeves from a friend who lives in Tokyo, who sells Vinyl and promo sets! He sends me a few box sets at Christmas occasionally! The fakes I burned to Apple iTunes and I have Apple Match which gives you the best listening option for the fakes. I don’t use iTunes much now, as I purchased an A&K High Resolution player and have been using that for music on the go! So I’ve been buying HDtracks and files from other sites as well. But “ mwiggenhauser “ is absolutely correct with his comment! The CDJapan set is an encore pressing with the starting disk WPCR-14953. I own this set as well. It initially came from CDJapan, but got it from my friend in Tokyo. This is the probability the most counterfeited box set ever released by any artist! Buy only from reputable dealers. I generally,as a rule buy all my minis from Japanese sellers I have been dealing with for a few years. Apparently, according to my friend, Japan is extremely strict on counterfeiting these and prison time starts at like 5yrs if caught. Look at feedback and number of positive comments about the seller. I wish minilps.net would get a major update! I signed up to be a contributor and never got a password or response! I’ve tried a few times, but it’s getting out dated with so many encore pressings and first time cardboard sleeve disc being released.

Looks like I got duped. I must say it's a really good fake LZ III is a dead giveaway and the colors on the CD's. I sounds really good though. I've had nearly four years now.

Nice box, great cardboard sleeves, great mastering, you get all the alternative sleeves, the only bonustracks are on albums on which it makes sense to have them. Everything's great! Besides, the music on the discs is legendary of course!
