Pure awesome, if you can get a decent copy, from start to finish a great early speed metal at its best!

I own this release. Does anyone know what the rehearsals and mega demos are from? These are NOT the megaforce demos. All of the tracks on the second vinyl sound like Dave Mustaine singing them. Two of the songs are not Metallica songs. Could they be early Megadeth songs? If anyone would like to hear these I have digitized them, i could send them to you. So strange. Thanks!

That's the release I have. But the release we're referring to on Discogs... their listing is not ours. We should create our own!

Where did you find different track listings? was it for the live Donnington show or for the demos themselves? Here are the tracks as i hear them:Side CTrack 1 Ride The LightningTrack 2 Call Of KtuluTrack 3 Creeping DeathSide DTrack 1 Fight Fire With FireTrack 2 Four Horsemen/Mechanix (this one definitely sounds like Dave)Track 3 Classical piano intro then shredding guitar, no idea what the song isTrack 4 Also no idea what the song is

I LOVE that idea. This release puzzles me, too. I recently realized that there is a different tracklisting for various versions of this record. I agree with everything you said. Please let me know if you 'tube it. Cheers!

Thanks for the reply! This is truly a puzzling record and would love to get some more input. Do you think I would get in trouble posting these on youtube? I think some folks at the metallicabb forum might be able to help if they were able to hear them also. The demos all sound like metallica instrumentally, but that voice is so much like mustaine it confuses me so! Thanks again!

Ok, verdict on the demos: Fight Fire With Fire is definitely Hetfield. The Four Horsemen (rendition) definitely sounds like Mustaine, but I'm certain it's not Megadeth. No way in hell they'd "cover" that during that (seriously effing dark) period of their band member transitioning. The song after that... who knows. That one's got me puzzled. Maybe the person who bootlegged this threw on one of their own or a friend's band demo? Or maybe it's actually some disregarded Metalligem? Dunno. Ride The Lightning... Hetfield, for sure. Call of Ktulu, Metallica, of course. And Creeping Death, Hetfield (at the very end of that song you can hear Lars' distinctive laugh). Man spinning this gem gives me the chills, still. Particularly when Hetfield hands it over to Cliff on the live disc. Cheers for posting!

I have. Will re-listen when possible and follow up.
