Classic album. Sorely underrated. Highlights include "Solutions" featuring Mumia Abu Jamal as the voice of the news announcer. (Mumia reported the news at 10 before each hour daily on WDAS FM until December 9, 1981.) Other notables songs such as the ballad, 'I'm In Love' and the very danceable, " All Night Long" and "I Just Want To Love You", were radio friendly. The title track, 'Voyager" and "Time Is The Teacher" are Dexter in his lane which, as an artist, is jazz fusion. But my absolute favorite other than "Solutions", is "Latin Love (Let Me Know) which is also fusion and not entirely Latin, but BOY does it pulse with that Latin groove augmented by the sweet stylings of "Philly's Angels", Barbara Ingram, Carla Benson and Yvette Benton. Those ethereal harmonies are part of the 'secret sauce' that kept The Sound Of Philadelphia in World Domination between 1972 ~ 1982 and beyond especially after the dance and hip-hop revivals of the late 80's and 90's when music like the music on this album was sampled, remixed and mined for the 'sonic gold and platinum' that it represents.
