absolutely wonderful EP. telefone 529 & obsessed are both beautiful atmospheric trips.

again, yet another classic and crucial 12" goes unreviewed! every single track of this ep is amazing; 'fear of expression', 'telefone 529' and 'obsessed' are all tracks of the 'tribal bass' variety, the records that always stood out in grooverider and colin dale sets in '91, ironically for a classic slice of IDM and detroit, 'obssesed' is one of my favourite ever hardcore records. the mixture of rolling breaks, sci-fi synths and 50 fathom deep bass defines an era and was certainly influential on the soon to emerge early jungle sound. 'metropolis' kind of follows the early detroit blueprint and soars with the purest of detroit strings. doesnt so much remind me that 1991 Britain was a very different time but makes me think it was a different planet! only glad i was there for it....
