The B-Side of this EP exemplifies how Gaye Bykers On Acid suffered from Jon ('Mekon') Langford's production and his and Ian Caple's mixing. Animal Farm, produced by Vic Maile, is the highlight of the EP with its powerful vocals, heavy guitars and driving percussion and drums which all have an intense sound also in the lower frequencies. This tune is easily as menacing as the best off Faith No More's Angel Dust from 1992. Then, Mass Gyrate comes as a letdown. Sure, the song is not quite as good as Animal Farm, but it has also been strongly restricted by trebly production and mixing. Langford/Caple did OK jobs on Hot Thing and Rad Dude - these are also the best tunes from the Stewed To The Gills album. Most of the 1989 album remains less satisfying, while Animal Farm strongly hints at GBOA's 1990 LP Cancer Planet Mission.
