This album is what you would expect from Geinoh during their "choir only" phase. It does sound nice though, something to study to or just listen when you're bored. Though to me, the highlight of this album is its final song Yamashiro-bushi "Tanuki". Holy crap, this song is really goddamn awesome. First it starts off with a male choir singing beautifully, then they break out the shamisen and then BAM! Japanese Progressive Rock at its finest, with bluesy electric guitars, various percussion and sweeping synthesizer leads. Geinoh Yamashriogumi normally does folk stuff, but damn do they know how to groove. Loving that funky bass at the 5:04 minute mark on that song. Honestly this whole album is worth it just for that song alone. I wish Geinoh did more stuff like this but I guess they prefer their choir stuff. Still awesome to listen to.
