reproduction works wonder in a dark clubfunky as hell. Loopy but not boring
Bradeya
A favorite standout of the whole so-called "tool techno" aesthetic, although to me, these aren't just mere utensils, these are four cuts that exude discharging charms of techno music. Funk, drive, rhythm and layers upon layers of groove. Impossible to sit still. That is what the whole fuss was about in the first place.Reproduction is proper tribal techno done just right before it all ventured into sampling Brazilian carnivals and samba shakers. Effective, deadly drops, congas and bass injected drum patterns that more than make up in pure functionality what they lack in originality. This is one of those things that worked in the good ol' days, works wonders now and will go down a storm years from the present day. Groove. Rhythm. Focus. Full stop.Twilight weighs a ton as well. Chunky percussion drops and heaven sent Basic Channel chords attached. Difference is, T. Scott picks up the pace and laces the overall feel with a more determined club feel. The nod to dub techno is more than obvious, yet it's the decision to increase the tempo that makes this is a forceful groover. Hypnotic repetition, moderate reverbs and punchy drum arrangements are the key elements here. It does not outdo the masters, but holds its own. Deadly where it's supposed to be - in the clubs.User 1 is a fanatical drum laden monster of an onslaught that just discharges bass avalanches for six minutes and some change. Crispy 4x4 kicks, loopy crystalline bleeps and unhinged bass drops. You've heard this a kazillion times if you've been around for a while, however, it's all hand in glove material here. It just works effortlessly. This four tracker suits just about any occasion unless you're warming up for Deep Dish. Profound, resonating, bouncing techno madness across both sides. There's nothing in particular that I could point a finger on here, as it's all been done before (and after) by some of the genre's masters, but Percy X literary drops a four tracker of techno goodness that'll make you shake it, in one way or the other. If you are a DJ, I do not see a reason not to own this. Everyone gravitates to this record. They might not like, yet they move.
