Quite an odd one this and some of the tracks are cut in really needless low volume.and no bass EQthe album folder states "Taste The Sweet Sound Of Philadelphia" (the sweet refers to chocolate in this case) chocolate brown with gold text limited to just 400 copies DJ mailing list and media.Timing gaff mix-up on side 2 B3 Billy Paul is 4.27 and is the full album version B4 The Ebonys is 2.45Most of the tracks are 7"/Radio Edits odd to have the full version of TWTT when a 7" Radio edit was mastered and cut!Some of the track selections IMO are vile and do not show Philly at it's very best Trammps Love Epidemic, MFSB Family Affair and The O Jays Put Your Hands Together, Others could have been better choices. Harold M & Co The Love I Lost (faultless knocks satisfaction) ) 3 Degreees Long Lost Lover (nice belter rather than dirty old man))MFSB should have had Sexy O'Jays 992 Arguments Trammps replaced with Peoples Choice Do It Any Way You WannaOther excellent and superior Philly showcaser's include :- MFSB, K-Gee , Archie Bell & Co, Everybody Have A Good Time , HM feat Sharon Page , I Hope That We Can Be Together Soon This only does a half-good job,the promotion of the label and logs in their olive/lime green and red are kept for the record labels only ! The gold text lush as it is, is foolishly left off the box spine. Nice gift and offering to have for free, just think the whole project could and should have been better. Not 100% convinced re1977 as so many absolute Philly belters had by then come along, Surely CBS would not have been re-promoting a label that they had marketed and invested in since 1972 5 years later but hey-ho who knows!
