No Good is a brutally honest, personal, and intimate rap tape. Bert’s wordplay has a sharpness that becomes numbing, a penetration into the soul that spreads into full bodied static as the EP progresses. Thru his passionate and unflinching delivery, Bert sets out to explore his past, his present, and the roots of his inner conflicts and emotional turmoil. Residual echoes of his emotive verses are layered over striped down beats and dusty, bare bones, boom bap style production. Atmospheric instrumental interludes connect the dots and transform this tape into an experience start to finish; a solemn stream of consciousness from this New Orleans based entity.

Extremely ambient, texturally mellow "beats" paired with basically spoken lyrics, touches of reverb and delay here and there, possibly found sounds and field recordings interspersed with the almost whispered vocals. The lyrics are the highlight here, which are immensely honest and vulnerable, intimate and introspective spoken word poetry over washed out and melancholy soundscapes of subdued keyboards, white noise and almost no percussion, very long vocal pauses. albert b. is a heartfelt emotional wordsmith who is telling his story in a unique way, and telling it like it is from a young perspective. - Credit to Chasé
