After Numuzik was bought by Polytel for obvious commercial reasons, the DJ Line serie started to fall apart very quickly. Volume 17, released in 1994, was very popular to feature rare tracks, some of them unreleased on CD to this day. The club remix of "In De Ghetto" by David Morales & The Bad Yard Club was a dancefloor favourite long before the Crystal Waters re-version was released in 1996. Storm's unmixed version of "I'm A Sex Maniac" is still exclusive to this CD. The addition of big Eurodance stormers such as Fun Factory's "Close To You" and ICE MC's "It's A Rainy Day" also helped to the popularity of this compilation. But this collection of tracks is not free of defects. Almost every song was edited to fit the program. "In De Ghetto" lacks a complete verse (the original unedited mix is 10:45). "Turn Me Out" by Praxis Feat. Kathy Brown is badly reconstructed and ends abruptly. A multitude of bad Euro fillers complete the set (the covers of "Without You" and "Abracadabra" are nauseous). Globally, this release is unsuitable for DJ's as it should have been (the DJ Line serie started with a professional DJ approach, abandonned over the years). Most of it's content is now out-of-date and could only bring bursts of laughs or weird looks from any mature audience.
