Literally came here to comment this, after finding that comp randomly today. Would love to know the origin story behind the painting!

Don't bother paying $50 - $100 for this, Dusty just launched a Kickstarter for a reissue where you can grab a hand-numbered copy for $15. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1171046124/rocketships-a-certain-smile-a-certain-sadness-reis

Rocketship created something special in A Certain Smile, A Certain Sadness. It's a one of a kind record despite how much it borrows from 80s jangle pop and 90s dream pop. In terms of how the album flows, how it sounds, and how it's written, it borrows most obviously from My Bloody Valentine's "Loveless". But of the thousands of records that have been influenced by Loveless, none have managed to capture the spine chilling otherworldly beauty of it like A Certain Smile, A Certain Sadness does. One only need listen to "Carrie Cooksey" to agree. Having the "just as perfect as Loveless and sometimes better" tag already makes A Certain Smile, A Certain Sadness a special record, but that you can experience the whole thing in a bit over half an hour makes it that much better. I've been a hardcore "Loveless" fan for years. If it were are religion, I'd die martyr. But damn I haven't loved a record this much in a long, long time. To say A Certain Smile, A Certain Sadness is a powerful record is not doing it justice.
