Excellent performance from 1976, with stellar set list. Recorded with a tape recorder by someone among the audience. That notwithstanding, it’s arguably the best Neil Young bootleg recording ever released. In Europe, at least, it found its way into numerous record stores and sold like heck, before they were blitzed by an early version of the Copyright Brigades and fined around 20 grand in deutschmarks (or equivalent) per store, which was quite hefty back then. Why did it sell so well? Because it was a) packed with at the time unreleased songs, including the absolutely stunning “Like a Hurricane” and the absolutely beautiful (as yet still unreleased) “Once I Was in Love”); b) it contained rare live recordings like the first electric version of “Last Trip to Tulsa”; c) it provided the perhaps most atmospheric version of “Like a Hurricane” ever recorded, even after all these years and numerous takes. Let’s be grateful that it’s not recorded on CD in the first place—it makes for a much richer experience, after all!" * this interpolates the gyokusal review.

Great atmosphere, bad sound quality, some first versions of songs. Nice record!
