Blackworm
Not the most essential Ashra album, four out of five tracks are somewhat unsuccesful doodles with eighties digital technology, the most interesting of those being Fourth Movement, which is a cut and paste of some arabian samples, almost in a cruder Holger Czukay persian lovesong way. HOWEVER, Third Movement: Four Guitars is a lilting, cyclical ambient guitarscape which effortlessly builds up a breezy, calming atmosphere in a quiet sidestep from some of the sunlit vibes of E2-E4 with hints of Steve Reich's Electric Counterpoint. Lovely and a minor gem of eighties Gottsching, just bear in mind if you buy the album you'll be buying it for this track alone.

heheheheh. i am buying this for Third Movement alone! have it on CD, but really want it on vinyl now. Oddly enough #4 has grown on me as I keep on hearing it after the Third Movement completes. looks like the prices for this piece are creeping up so the trigger has been pulled.
