Notes

This release groups together the first eight vinyl 12" volumes of US Ugly Edits (most tracks also appearing on the UK bootleg versions).

Tracks 1-4, 1-5, 1-6, and 1-7 are all elements to create the entire "Yeah Yeah Yeah" track. 1-4 and 1-5 are just the "Yeah Yeah Yeah" phrase, 1-6 is the same phrase paired with a kickdrum, and 1-7 is the main track.
Track 1-9 is a strange faded noise that sounds like session noise.
Track 2-8 is not titled on the release but appears to be Willie Hutch - Slick (Theo Parrish Re-Edit) when compared to the previous vinyl release.

Neither "Ugly Edits" (the unofficial title this release is known as) nor "Theo Parrish" are directly printed anywhere on the release.

Track durations are taken from the physical CD and are not listed on the release.

Avoid this like the plague. Just vinyl rips of actual 12's. Quality on some of the tracks is totally unplayed on a good system.

first up let me say I LOVE these edits - i download [illegally] all the ugly edits as they are released on vinyl (downloading I very rarely do, but originally these were never to have a CD release) and have been listening and dancing along to all of them for many years. heard the man himself spin pretty much all of them over the years downstairs in the basement that is plastic people, eq'ing the sh#t out of them as only he can doi understand as the name suggests, and as most of theo's productions demonstrate, that they are supposed to sound rough and raw, i.e. ugly. what disappoints me though is the overall quality presented here. sold at a premium price the least i would expect would be that they could have taken the 12"s and compiled them on a couple of CDs and MASTERED the release... but the mastering clearly didn't happen. simply chucked the tracks over a couple of CDs - the relative dB levels of each track are all over the placeI bought it as I am a bit of a completist CD collector and highly regard all Theo's work - but with this I just feel a little ripped off. Don't get me wrong the edits are great - letting the original music shine with a big theo thumb print to boot - and at a regular price I wouldn't complain.if there is a CD release of the following ugly edits (#9+) I will still probably buy that, but I hope someone puts 10min in to master the comp

Does anyone know how many of these were made? How were they sold out so quickly initially?

CD 1 actually reads as having 12 tracks total. "Yeah Yeah Yeah" is broken up into 4 tracks: Tracks 4 & 5 are 4 seconds each, consisting of one bar of the "yeah yeah yeah" vocal loop; while track 6 is a 25 second "intro" which features the "yeah yeah yeah" vocal loop and the muffled bass kick. Track 7 begins with the vocal loop, synth, and clap beat, and plays out for the duration. Track 8 is "Little Flower."Track 9 is solely 5 seconds of silence before "Got A Match?" comes in at track 10. The correct tracklist could/should read as follows:1-1 Slowly Surely1-2 Never Let U Go1-3 Love I Lost1-4 -1-5 -1-6 Yeah Yeah Yeah (Intro)1-7 Yeah Yeah Yeah1-8 Little Flower1-9 - (Silence)1-10 Got A Match?1-11 Get On Down1-12 Stay TogetherCD 2 matches up with the Discogs tracklist info, though the back CD tray does not list track 2-8, "Slick."

What is track 12 then? I don't know enough about the original tracks to say what is what.Actually, ignore that. Track 9 appears to be 5 seconds of silence. Confusing!

sad that this had to be released.. Orig Vinyl for these are the real gems... Gotta make that bank.

The reason for the CD is to pay royalties to the original artists as the original vinyls were all unlicensed and wouldn't have made enough money to pay any royalties anyway, even retrospectively. I think Theo felt he did it wrong first time round and wanted to make things up somehow. Seems like a good solution in those circumstances.

Disapointing that this release only covers ugly edits 1-8 and not the 3rd track on UGEDT 02.

would've required a third cd and a special box
