This Lightnin' release is really only for completists. Sounds as if a bit of "imbibing" may have preceded these sessions. The recording quality is dynamic and quite good. The whole band as a unit is out of control and time. However on close listening Hopkins is occasionally pulling off some amazing riffs during a few tunes. Those few riffs are why I've rated this 3 when it's really about a 1-1/2.
