what are the limits of altering modern classical music for it to still remain exactly that? or does it just stay exciting because there will be always people going one simple step further, knowing that this is ok? no matter what you think the answer is, present release is both, thrilling and skilfully crafted. After abandoning a mere classical approach on her cello and playing some collaborative live sets accompanied by Edu Comelles on laptop, Sara Galan set to work on a way to enhance her musical output by generating a software which would interfere with her created sounds, forcing her to respond to the program’s unpredictable glitches. those interferences are based on gesture detection and were, ultimately, part of Sara’s final project for her master degree in visual art and multimedia. present recordings are a documentation of her eventual achievements and bring home a conceptual approach to classical music, in this specific case sounds created by a cello, which enriches and enhances the created output in a stunningly unconventional way. the results are incredibly multilayered pieces of music, authentically sounding but charged with extra depth and plenty of organic drones. in fact, this is one more proof that it is worth testing ones limits, it seems.
