I just received the Trancentral 6 CD and I loved the cut X-plore that was on it so I thought I would explore further this artist Montauk P. Listened to a 12" with the tune electromagnetic that I liked a lot then I listed to this. What I like here is the extended length of X-plore. Almost 2 minutes more than on the Trancentral Comp. Not much more here for Goa trance fans but the last song on this CD "Understood?!" is really something you should listen to before you move on. A very deep, trippy psychedelic tribal track with a lot of very cool percussion. I have to buy this just for the last track. The extended version of X-plore is a bonus.

I always thought of this release as techno but on this page it's classified as techno electro, oh well i must be wrong. Lizard Man is by far the stand out tune on this album, (at least in my opinion, i bet 99% of others would disagree) it is slower in tempo-125bpm, the intro is long with a brocken beat and a cool vocal sample, from there it becomes a propulsive techno track once the beat changes to a 4/4 kick, the good thing is the beats never become boring, Montauk work the beat for the whole duration but at the same time he doesn't over do it so the beats never become boring or tired sounding, when listening to Lizard man it feels more like rock in someways probably because of the vocal sample) but that is just me, (my fucked up imagination interprets sounds in all sorts of fucked up ways) the sounds are all very much techno 5/5 . The only other trackthat i like is AV UNIT, the other tracks leave a lot to be desired, " turn the page" contains a very apocalyptic vocal but the tune is so repetetive with very little in the way of variation except for a really cool riff that comes in about half way through but it is short lived and it soon reverts back to boring repetitive shite, the other tunes are nothing to get excited about either but that is me so my suggestion is to totally disregard my comment and decide for yourself!!!!!
