Apparently never re-released on CD, this album became a huge hit, charting at #4. Another important Capitol LP was Dakota (T1490) with Benny Carter. She went on to record over 29 albums for Capitol and other labels such as United Artists, Groove Merchant, Muse, Simitar, and High Note, where she cut her final studio album, A Packet of Love Letters, in 1999.She always delivered superior performances, belting or crooning in a husky emotional voice and she had an insightful sense of humor that surfaced during live dates to the delight of audiences. …
