Worth owning purely for the track "Angry Dolphin" which showcases Ed and Andy's DNB skills to maximum effect. A slow burner which somehow manages to be jazzy, playful, devastating and melodic as it progresses. I believe Plaid never continued with this style in any of their subsequent releases, which is a shame really. Their skills with a drum machine are just as impressive as their talent for melody and atmospherics, and although I never really liked their direction post Double Figure, their back catalogue is filled with classics such as this. Oh, and Clear was a fantastic label too.

Thought it worth mentioning that they had some other DNB tunes among their remix work:-- a spectacular highlight is their remix of Studio Pressure's (Photek) 'Relics'... if you haven't heard this tune, find it NOW!-- their mix of 'Get Some Sleep Tiger' puts a DNB touch one of Red Snapper's best songs-- their remix of Bjork's 'Big Time Sensuality' uses *tiny* beats, but still DNB in its rhythm-- 'Headspin' on 'Not for Threes' doesn't stand up to a rigorous definition of DNB, but it still contains some intricate DNB-like percussion I agree that they had some remarkable skills in this department, and it's a shame they never did a full EP of it at some point.
