Originally bought this in 1990 for track A2 (which I'd heard on the Stu Allan house hour on Manchester's Key103fm - thanks Stu!) intensely ahead of its time warped driving space house that sounds as good now as it did then. It was only when I got the record home and played it through that I heard New Age of Faith. Classic e.p. that sums up the experimental / exploratory spirit of NuGroove and the underground house scene in general at the time.

For those that don't know, the 3rd track on the b-side: "New Age Bonus Track" is where Sabres Of Paradise got the inspiration for their Smokebelch track. I say inspiration, however, I use the term very loosely as I am not entirely sure that nicking the tune almost note for note count as inspiration. They did do a good job of it though!

I agree that they did a good job but I think 'inspiration' is putting it mildly! They lifted the entire melody. Still I'd never have heard of this great record if it was not for the Sabres - so props to them all the same. The Tu Rong version is also a pretty nice track - it seems to share more in common with the Sabres version than the beautifully unhinged original.
