Not a bed pressing, production comes through and sounds crisp and not too much noise throughout. Most evident on "Put That Away and Talk to Me" in terms of crispness and cleanliness of sound.

Just played disc one both sides after running it through a Hannl RCM. The vinyl looked clean to begin with despite the inner sleeve being that scary kind of paper that seems to want to grab the LP and scrape it as you try to remove. I use the MFSL sleeves after cleaning. The LP was made of quiet quality vinyl IMO, but there were areas that were what I would deem a little excessive in the ticks and pops dept. The manufacturing process was probably not as clean as it should have been... maybe. The record has lots of quiet spaces that really demand a meticulous pressing-- Polydor definitely knows this-- and I think I have the second run given the complaints about preorders. So it's iffy. You might get a great copy... maybe... just maybe... but it sure sounds great on vinyl.

Hi, manufacturer named gzmedia.com from the Czech Republic and the supplier is Universal Music. It would be good to contact them ;-)
Gold as Heart
I returned my preorder copy and received a repress from the label. It's better, but still plenty of defects on side A and B. Fuck them.

My copy is bunk... where are you guys requesting replacement copies from?
MarF
Did anyone's copy come with a download code? I feel like it was supposed to but I cannot find it.
Vathennece
my pressing sucks too... smear marks on the vinyls from pressing. Persistent surface noise and clicks. Requesting an exchange for the new pressing.
Kipabi
How can we tell which version we have? I assume a repress would take some time before it's re-released? My copy sounded just fine on all 4 sides, so hopefully the bad copies were not widespread.
Bradeya
Side B of my copy had a distracting brief hiss sound at an exact point of the rotation throughout the entire side. Minor noise at other points but mostly fine. Returning immediately.

Update: I got notice from the official store that they are re-calling all stock for this LP and they will be "re-stocked". (a new pressing is being made I presume).
Qudanilyr
Mail preorder oneSide A : perfectly quietSide B : non-fill, scratch in right channel at every revolutionSide C : perfectly quietSide D : my copy's been pressed with a red pencil lead in the grooves that no amount of cleaning could remove. In the final grooves thankfully (although on a quiet song). Not even a joke. Causes quite a deal of noise upon playback.I bet Matt cut that one like a pro but this pressing surely didn't do him any justice.
Friert
Terrible pressing. continuous loud surface noise all the way.(Pre ordered copy).
Malanim
Hi, contact gzmedia.com (pressing) and Universal music (supplier)!I have the same problem :-(
Kieel
Got 2 copies. Both damaged on side B. Repetitive loud cracks all throughout the entire record.
Tekasa
Just curious. Did anyone else clean their copy? When I noticed some little white specs, I rinced and cleaned mine and it sounds fine
Zuser
I have this issue also, which is present on side C too. Very disappointed.
Dianazius
Both copies came from the same local recordstore. After unsealing I immediately noticed some white pulver residue on side B of both copies at the exact same spot. Both had repetitive noises throughout all of side B. Hopefully this only happened to just a small batch. Will see how the mailorder copy I ordered turns out.
Levion
Where did you get them from? I preordered mine off the label and it sounds fantastic. None of the problems you've described. You should maybe try and return them
Uaoteowi
Anyone recieved their pre orders yet? How does it sound?

is it just me or does it seem that james blake is getting softer? i really liked his debut LP as his first attempt at this soul thing, fresh & something different... since then it's been much the same, formulaic & predictable... this latest LP is quite soppy in parts but im sure many ladies will love it! just not my thing, not cutting edge or moody anymore... with Jamie Lidell's shift from techno into soul, he evolved over time with each album... here it's the same vibe, same effects, same beats, think ive heard this before and with better ideas... for me james is falling into the stereotypical comment "i like his old stuff better than his new stuff"... shame cause i thought he was onto something & was really going to push things to new limits, not just regurgitate once he grabbed everyone's attention...
Nidora
I could'nt agree more. The first album introduced an artist with a totally new approach. For me his debut album - and still is - a groundbreaking record. A record that I thought back then: This album with stand out for many many years to come. And it will.
