"1988" is a calm, minimal, deep and beautiful production. The original focuses on quite a strict structure of building a rhythm around the guitar riff and sinewave notes. Yet it doesn't seem to get boring, as filter effects, reverb effects and a few additional instruments help break the song up while in play.Jimpster's Remix pays short tribute to the forumula of the original, while encasing it in what I can only describe as a fusion of Funk/Soul and 80s Electro while also applying the sound of the original, making it one of the most unique-sounding dance tracks around today. Hats off to both producers for this incredible release.
