This entry is a 1977 repress of King Records - LKB-8, released in May of 1957. Although recorded in mono, this recording is still very effective in conveying the excitement of this performance. Every track is a masterful combination of big-band jazz and outrageous drum solos. It's impossible not to imagine people dancing to this music. And there is no shortage of fantastic drum solos, with all three drummers on full drum sets playing together with great flairs and impossible drum rolls. Generally, you will find SKA-3005, listed here, in better condition than the original LKB-8 records, which were pressed some 20 years prior. But condition is condition. If you find a copy of LKB-8 and it's listed in top condition, grab it.

The original 1957 release is easily visually distinguishable from the 1977 repress. The accompanying image for this listing shows the 1977 repress, with a red square surrounded by white space. The red square seen here is essentially a reduced-size reproduction of the original pressing. The original pressing had a solid red front cover, and the three drummers were proportionately larger.
