If anyone is willing to sell one of these Playbuttons, please get in touch with me. I'm very interested!

Anyone know of other artists like Sibylle? It is her songwriting, and strange melodies I am drawn to. All I know of is Vashti Bunyan, I'm not that familiar with folk music.
Silverbrew
You might like Nick Drake - all three of his original albums are excellent. For something more contemporary, Marissa Nadler sounds somewhat similar.

Check out the album How Sad, How Lovely by Connie Converse, also home recordings on reel-to-reel tape, but in the 50's. Interesting back story as well to say the least.https://www.discogs.com/Connie-Converse-How-Sad-How-Lovely/master/809135

I have the O.G Isota pressing and yes, there is noticeable distortion. It has everything to do with the fact that this was originally recorded on some sort of lo-fi tape recorder decades ago and the tape was subsequently buried until it was unearthed by her daughter and passed along to J Mascis who got it pressed and released. It was originally released in a very small batch on a very tiny label so I'm guessing there wasn't much of a budget for remastering and mixing the track for dynamic range and fidelity. Being as how Sybylle had no intention of this music every being heard, I take it for what it is and I am just grateful to even hear it on my favorite format. It's a stunning listen all things considered.

This LP has been recently restocked at Juno. Both copies ordered have bad scratches across the A1 track of identical shape. Seems to be a pressing error. Beware!

Music for shady days and hearts paved in asphalt. Buried in the road over time. Sleeper of a heavy slumped body of water in deep slumber. Like opening up a time capsule dug up from a half century ago. It means so much more than words dare to form. Evading definition slyly as we strive to contain evoked feelings hooked on jagged edges of hearts being pulled out of our chest through our ears by this enchanted mummification. A welcome curse.

You're in luck, insofar as there were upwards of two represses in 2010.

This is a comment upon the sound quality and not the music itself:I have listened to two copies of the 2010 vinyl issue and both have awful sound quality issues (distortion).I would welcome further opinions on this.

Thank you for your replies, Fuudge & SooBawls. The vinyl copies I listened to were Colour Green. Truly awful distortion, especially on the inner most tracks. The sound degraded to the point you could not hear the vocals properly.I wonder, considering the prices it has sold for, if the copy on Isota (Colour Green) is without these flaws. However, both vinyl copies seem to be pressed by GZ (if you examine the matrix info). zetaoku, sorry that was my fault. I posted the comment on the CD release by accident. I have not heard the CD issue. I have heard an mp3 rip which I assume is from CD, and it sounds fantastic.

It's an interesting topic. There is distortion in the original audio itself, regardless of the medium (CD, vinyl, mp3) but no one seem to talk about it. I really enjoy this album but the distortion is really a downside. It has probably something to do with the tapes on which they recovered the music more than 30 years later but still I wonder if it could have been fixed in some way...I have mp3 version and vinyl. I can't say if there is significantly more distortion on the vinyl. I'll check more carefully and let you know.

But is the sound quality of CD okay? Supposedly CD would be ok?

I've had the same experience with my copy. It sounds pretty dreadful. I'd be curious to hear about the 2006 pressing, especially because it's on a different label.
