It's not the same as the retro techno compilation. Different arrangements and longer 909 intro. Sounds livearranged to me and a bit more stripped down. I also think the version on the retro techno comp is the best version!

Definitely the best version without a doubt! And to think the so-called 'When We Used To Play (Unreleased Version)' on the 'Retro Techno:Emotions Electric' LP was actually released first three years earlier on a Kool Kat Records compilation in '88! The same remix also appeared a year later in 1989 on Incognito Records. So much for Network Records calling it an unreleased version, eh? Not to mention that Kool Kat Records was their main label before changing it to Network half way through 1990! Seems they got confused or simply forgot?

The longer 909 intro might mean it's the same version as on https://www.discogs.com/Blake-Baxter-When-We-Used-To-Play/release/57550
Clever
Does anybody know if the Blake Baxter Remix on here is the same as the Unreleased Mix that appeared on the Retro Techno compilation? https://www.discogs.com/Various-Retro-Techno-Detroit-Definitive-Emotions-Electric/master/31736It sounds similar from the audio clips I've heard online. By far my favourite mix of this classic track. Would be great to have it on a Twelve!

Hello all, buyer be aware as all repress with the white label are bootlegs, if theres any confusion check the matrix numbers and etching in run out grooves, should be ARCHER, AS ARCHER or NSC. If these are not present then do not buy and spend the money to make sure you get an original.

The version with the gold background is the genuine KMS copy. The labels with a white background are bootleg copies.

When I first got this back in 1987, it was exactly the same pressing as the original gold label however, the labels were light aqua colored with black print. It was pressed from the same Archer mastering plates as the gold label. I believe the very first presses may have been the more rare light aqua colored label followed by the more recognized gold labels.

KMS released an ugly rerelease some years ago which has different labels which both say "Side B". There is also an old release with black/white-colored label otherwise identical to the one on the photo except that the Distributor and the adress are missing. I don't know which one is the Original!

My both b side label version has Archer in the deadwax ?
