Expanded reissue of the LP "Fred McDowell / Furry Lewis: When I Lay My Burden Down" issued by Biograph Records as BLP-12017 in 1970. Tracks 8, 9 and 11, as well as all of the Robert Wilkins tracks, are bonus tracks not issued on the original LP.

Fred McDowell's tracks were recorded at his home in 1969.
Furry Lewis' tracks were recorded at his home in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1968.
