Parts 1 and 2 of this series really enjoyed them, but since the first time I heard this one I always said something here is not to the level of the others. This something happens to be Scott’s mix. Scott uses a couple of tracks of his in the mix which have cheesy vocals and trancey melodies – Don’t Be Afraid, Crazy Love, Don’t Be Afraid & Torn, the latter samples that famous Natalie’s Imbruglia pop song. On the contrary, tracks like Blast Your Ass, Here Comes the Prozac, Ready for Judgement Day, I Became Hardcore and The Sickest Audiocrime are very good and popular tracks which appeared on loads of other compilations. So during the mix when one of these latter tracks jumps into a cheesy track as described above it doesn’t sound well ‘cos it suddenly changes from pounding hardcore to more familiar sounding music – and that breaks the flow. Neophyte’s mix is uncompromised – massive hits like The Agency, Payback, To You Who Doubt Me, The Hardest, Alles Kapot, Wonderbra and Dedicated amongst appeared on tons of compilations and need no introduction to the hardcore followers. Certainly this mix leaves a trail behind it. Check out the closing track Attack by Unexist –an evil track with that typical Unexist sound. I would give 5/5 to Neophyte’s mix, but for Scott’s just 3, sorry. I prefer the others before.
