OK it's a long shot but does anyone know what scratched record is used on "Play It Again " ?

It's hard to imagine anyone approaching this record in 2018 without an understanding of what they're getting into. But of course the material is still ripe for discovery. "Clifford" is, in a nutshell, four sides of madness alternating between drum machine driven synth pop instrumentals and full on lo fi live noise and tape manipulation. At times poignant and others amusingly irreverent or downright funny, it rewards repeated listening to an uncommon degree. As with other items in the hallowed Severed Heads catalog, it doesn't really sound like anything else. It's a document whose novelty and intrigue seem to blossom as time passes. I own the original Ink release, and this issue sounds perhaps a bit more clear and bright. But I'd recommend either issue to the individual who relishes the inventive dissection of the human imagination. What else are you living for?

Pioneers!! One of my favourites of all times!! Extreme Loop-Science in a New Wave style. Odd? Yes. Saw them in 1985/86 live in a club in germany, playing the tracks of this 2xLP, two dark guys with two small black keyboards. On the wall behind them a fast collage of videomaterial of this time. Leaving people fascinated and surprised. I was blown away. Pure listening music. Side 3 is still killing me.The Reissue is very well done, just reducing, not pushing.

Just---odd. Tuxedo Moon meets The Residents meets synth pop like Depeche Mode. Sounds good to me!

"Dance" (B6) leads into one of the most brilliant and nerve-wracking endless loops since "Sgt. Pepper".Groovy in a perverted way.You don't want it to stop. And it won't.

This re-release version on dark entries is superb!!!! I have had both the Ink records and Dark Entries and the sound is so much better on the Dark entries release. This is probably due to these reasons. 1. Tom Ellard in the notes on this release says that these tracks were compiled on a Digital recorder.. on the Ink release they were transferred back onto magnetic tape (a lower quality (de)generation). When they re-released it for Dark Entries they still had a perfect copy of the original Digital tape that they compiled it on -- took it straight to digital for remaster.2. George Horn remaster-- a genius-- and he makes the difference in these proper re-releases of obscure coldwave/minimal synth releases that come out today. A proper memorial and he pumps new life and energy in these releases.

I'm a little late to the Severed party, but for the record there is no download card with the vinyl, but if you buy it directly from the label via Bandcamp there is a lossless (or lossy for those who prefer it) download included.

Thanks for your thoughts on this re-release. I have the original as well and wondering if it would be a good purchase as this was one of my favourite releases so might go ahead with it. I was also interested to know if the album comes with a digital download in lossless format at all?
