1989 was the year of the ridiculous, over-the-top house remixes in the UK & Europe. I think these remixes are absolutely the cheesiest of the bunch. "I Heard a Rumour (Corporation of Bananarama Mix)", in particular, pays no regard whatsoever to making anything be in key, even before dropping in a huge chunk of Rhythim is Rhythim's "Strings of Life", itself a song that's a more than a little "off" in that regard. But who cares? Bananarama was on the skids by then, so it only made sense to revisit their three biggest hits with some updated dance mixes. I imagine these cuts did get some club play, but man, I remember hearing them at the time they came out, a time when I absolutely loved hearing remixes of pop songs, and thinking "Wow. You've GOT to be kidding."

No, porn is good.well, there's some good quality porn.Nevertheless I agree this single has terrible remixes.Only Cruel Summer '89 is worth mentioning as a good re-recorded version of their first world hit.

in agreement with this comment all were the same adding unnecessary dance beats to any track they could.Back in 89-90 it was rife trying to keep the structure of the original but adding silly pointless beats to them all.

mjb - You've got THAT right! These are the worst house mixes I've ever heard, and that's saying a lot for me. I'd call this dance porn, but it's not even up to that standard!
