I was looking around on the Boltfish website and came across some reviews for this album. To say they were favorable would be accurate, although slightly backhanded. To say that the Milieu sound is a rip off of BOC is entirely missing the point, and to fault someone with the talent and willpower to churn out a great wealth of material, is downright strange. IMO "Remodelled" is a very nicely made and thought out album of melancholy electronics. The textures and moods that are represented on this, and for that matter all of the Milieu catalogue, are those of bewildering nostalgia. For me, listening to songs like "Auburn Morning Winds" brings up memories of childhood days spent at my grandparents in the Ohio countryside or the wondrous transformation of nature through the seasons. Just the fact that the song's textures and melodies can immediately conjure up such imagery speaks volumes alone. Maybe that is the BOC reference, the ability Milieu has for realizing such nostalgic thoughts, and burying them within the rhythms and melodies. Either way, this album is another beautiful collection of music in the already astounding Milieu catalogue. My hats off to you Mr. Grainger.
