This album is one of the finest works of jazz fusion I've ever heard. If "five stars" is the highest you can rate an album, then this one calls for a new category. What musicianship? What compositions? What artistry? It's really breathtaking. I first came across Aziza some 10 years ago by sheer accident when my ears caught the track Bana Bana Gel playing on the radio. "How is this real?" I thought. I keep asking the same question, a decade later. With this super star line up (Al Di Meola on acoustic guitar, Bill Evans on soprano and tenor saxophone, Stanley Clarke on acoustic and electric bass, Kai E. Karpeh De Camargo on 5-string electirc bass guitars and Omar Hakim on Drums) Aziza's 'Dance of Fire' even transcends what Chick Corea's jazz-rock dazzled us with.
