Marilore
A superb album which will enthrall lovers of Swamp Blues, this is Rudis only solo Album , he is backed by Short Fuse.. see Facebook Short fuse blues, and some illustrious guests such as Larry Garner, who credits Rudi as being one of his major influences. , This is his first recordings since his years as a member of Slim Harpos King Bees. here he pays tribute to his former bandleader.. and also records two songs by Lonesome Sundown , who taught him a lot in the late fifties before he left Good Rockin Bob to go with Slim Harpo. his guitar work shines on Five long Years.. where he delivers a spine tingling solo with some beautiful Chordal work and descending arpeggios, reminiscent of his solos with Slim, on such numbers as Don't Start crying now and Buzzing. The album also shows its Louisiana roots with some cajun fiddle on two numbers , courtesy of Gina Forsyth , and Rudi s own accordion work on Clifton Cheniers P tite Fille and Big Mamou. There is also a song by Roy Hayes written specially for the album..Roy wrote several songs for Slim Harpo, which were cut at his last session.. he is well known for composing Im going to be Wheel some day.
