God, but this "dub" version is terrible. It exhibits an almost hilariously rhythmless (mis)understanding of dub. The vocals are cut in and out in what would seem to be a nearly random manner—except that it's so clumsy and artless it must be intentional. Truly random cuts would actually be better than this. This mix comes across as a halfhearted last-minute Simon Harris studio burp to fill a B-side. Given that this was 1992 and record labels were, at the time, cramming up to four formats of singles with exclusive b-sides (so as to entice fans to buy all of them and send the single up the charts), there's a good chance that I'm correct. Stone Roses fans, you don't need this. I noticed there's a version up on YouTube, have a listen...if you'd like to waste three minutes of your life. I wonder how much Harris got paid by Silvertone to do this? No wonder the band hated that record label. Hahaha.
