The compiled B-sides of Aesthetic Perfection's..? It's certainly the same vocals (albeit a bit less varied) over the same untz-untz beat (with slightly less rhythmic variation). Now, I'm not saying they'd deliberately try to emulate Greaves, mind you, after all it's only natural that people try to make music the way they're used to in the Style they like. Which is all very fine, and I guess sometimes the apprentice will surpass the master (Mastertune at least came close with Front 242, Metroland takes a dig at Kraftwerk and Atropine for sure challenge Skinny Puppy). Anyway, I'm just trying to describe the sound of Shiv-R, and the end result, IMHO, is similar to a less inspired cousin who was turned down at an Out of Line audition and walked straight over to the office of Infacted... I'm not a huge Aesthetic Perfection fan myself, but despite all his fillers, AP always deliver the odd gem with catchy melodies and choruses which are guaranteed to set the club floors on fire. And I can't see that here on Shiv-R. Seriously, which of the tracks on "Wax wings" would you ever ask a DJ to play or do you believe would fit nicely on an AP album..?
