Flash_back
Lovely packaging, but one of the most unfocused and inessential Oh Sees releases. Too bad, as they've otherwise been on quite a roll lately.
Scream_I LOVE YOU
Amazing 12". Picked up the blue vinyl version with the foil-stamped sleeve, really simple sleeve design but really effective. The pressing is flat and perfect. Side A is an agitated, wiry, edgy, experimental jam. Took me a few listens to dig it properly but dig it I very much do. Very Can-like. Side B is a spaced out mellow jam, really cool bluesy guitar echoing around the place, could go on forever and I'd still be listening. Really glad I snapped one up after procrastinating back and forth on whether to pay so much for a two track record when it first went on sale. It's worth it, go get one.(as an aside - why do Castle Face charge so much for their records and postage? I live in the UK and even ordering from their EU site the postage costs a lot more than it should, especially in comparison to many other labels/shops. Kind of sucks).

I've given up buying from the CF website not just because of the high shipping costs, these are shipped from Wales yet they charge around £8!. But also since they dropped accepting £'s as payment we get lumbered with having to pay in euros + VAT....makes it way too much all round. I can live without the special colours to be honest, just plain black from local indie store is fine by me from now on.

100% agree, shipments in the European Union are very very expensive

JPD: We're releasing an EP of 20 minutes of random noodling. Me: Meh. JPD: It's on electric blue vinyl. Me: Sold!

Mine is VERY dished...I mean, if it didn't have a hole in the center I could eat cereal out of it! Otherwise it sounds great. I've left it clamped on the turntable for several days...hopefully this will help considering CF's new no return or exchange policy.

Mine arrived looking and sounding just about perfect. Sucks that so many copies were apparently flawed, tho :(
Kit
Same here... still sounds awesome tho! It compliments ORC perfectly.
Kanek
I got mine in the mail today. Both tracks are instrumentals that are focused around a repetitive rhythm provided by drums. It actually reminds me of some of Can's music (but everything reminds me of Can). If I had to liken it to some of their other stuff, I'd say the songs fall in the same vein as the jam at the end of 'Keys to the Castle' and the jam from 'Raw Optics' from Orc. Overall, not bad but not my favorite singles/EP from them. Not sure I'd pay what the scalpers are already asking for it.
