Is this remix by THE Jam Master Jay? because it doesn't sound like something he would do at all. Having listened to Run Dmc since nearly the start nothing, style, production techniques, arrangement, samples etc etc sound anything like something Jam Master Jay (yes I know Rick Rubin blah blah) would turn out, furthermore he did only a couple of remixes ever and to choose Punk Rock seems like a very odd choice.Having said that it's my pick on this 12".
misery
I had the same thoughts, although it was recorded in NY in 1998, 4 years before his death. This could well be Jason, & I have heard late material from absolute legends of early Hip Hop which does not add up to their early stuff, its quite common. Still baffles me though how people go from genius to garbage, although back in the day, some of the the faces fronting the music had less to do with making it than you might imagine...

The title track on here is one of the best tunes Deejay Punk-Roc did, capturing a very nice big beat sound which easily rivals that of other more well-known artists of the time. As a single it is a bit disappointing, because the other mixes don't really offer much to get excited about.
