Had to give t a clean, it sounds okay at best. Nowhere near the best pressing I've heard.

Not sure if anyone else has had this problem, but I bought this new and the grooves look filthy, like there is some sort of chemical residue buried in the grooves. Cleaning didn't help at all. Additionally, it was scratched straight from the factory with a static sound on tracks 9 and 12 (the first track on both sides of the 2nd record). Musically speaking the album is simply fantastic, but there is quite a bit of quality control problems with this issue of the record.

Absolutely gorgeous pressing! No surface noise or distortion to be found on my copy! Music plays wonderfully, and even through the breaks inbetween songs, there isnt a crackle or the slightest noise to be heard! Couldn't be happier

Definitely some sound quality issues here, especially side B on my copy. Fuzzy and slightly distorted, despite the record being clean. Poorly mastered. I get outstanding sound through my system from some great vinyl pressings and this is not one of them.

My cd copy of the original release has the track listing wrong on the back. I believe this was deleted on release day? Any ideas which listing on here matches mine?

With dynamic range ~5? No, thanks. Play it either loud or proud, the recording still sucks.

My pressing sounds fine or I just have bad ears. I've listened to it a lot and love it.

We need to campaign for a quality reissues on 180gm. I'm not the person the start this though.

Thank You to Discogs for making me realize why my version sounded like COMPLETE AND UTTER CRAP!!!!! UGH! the warner bros. pressing is absolutely terrible!! Ok well its passable..but it doesnt live up to the standard of the original pressing. this sounds very grainy, and not very dynamic. the vinyl is also slightly warped due to a terrible sleeve layout. would recommend saving up for the "Universal" pressing if you're a true muse fan (i've covered many songs vocal/bass) but if you want to hear endlessly...atleast that sounds beautiful on this pressing! hope this information helps save someone $30! have a good one.

I have more than a decent playback system and this actually sound more than ok, very similar to CD quality (same mastering and dynamic range), very little surface noise. There is no inner groove distortion or anything like that.

you ain't got a clue about sound quality. get yourself a decent system. this record sounds awesome!

initally I agreed with you on the sound on this release. on my first playthrough it did sound a bit meh..so the 2nd time through I closed my eyes and played with all the volumes, figuring that maybe it's just engineered with compression in mind.... I found that cranking my preamp up 6db higher than I usually would caused the whole sound to come together beautifully. the album really rocks out now. i'd love to hear the original to see if there's a big difference, but i'm now pretty happy with my copy once I figured that out.

Hi. In my version, the stickers are interchanged, which means side A has C sticker, B has D, C has A and D has B. Has anybody else this version?

Same here. Great mistake for the first vinyl edition to happen. It really DOES make it even more special - besides the great songs.

Yep, this release has misprinted labels. For some reason I kinda like it. It makes it special.
