Despite M_nus being well overhyped and musically not going anywhere far from its navel, they occasionally hit the spot with gusto. That’s what happens in this collab between Heartthrob and Troy Pierce, which, without falling too far away from the tree, has a kind of nerve and rust that most of the label’s related productions lack. Meaty, stubbornly rhythmic, slightly fabril and damn right dirty, this Ep plays and succeeds in the game of combining the producers’ skill to get something that is more than the sum of its parts: maybe not something else, but definitely something better.
