This is what i talking about . Perfect mastering, amazing quality of record - hard to believe but this records got no single clics or pops . This Album makes me happy .

Sounds absolutely fantastic. The mastering is on point and very vibrant with a lot of punch. Perfect for this type of music. The pressing is top notch and no surface noise nor clicks or pops were noticed by me during play. And for those confused about the remakes of these songs, this compilation includes the original versions as far as I can tell. Even the inner sleeves are lined with plastic. I really am hard pressed to find anything to even not pick about. The only possibly strange design choice is not including the record side tracks on the label. Still, you can just look on the back of the jacket sleeve. Near flawless release!Equipment used:Rega RP1 with Rega Carbon cartridgeCyrus 2 AmplifierSystem Fidelity SF-3050 tower speakersCustom made HQ speaker cables

Good insight. It was a while ago I listened to this album so I think my overall liking to it might have changed since then with new knowledge and equipment. I also recall what you said about the dynamic compression although its probably not as big a deal on most of these dance type songs. If you were looking for a better alternative Im sure the first pressed issues are the way to go. Im not the biggest fan of ELO so sticking to best of collections such as this one keeps me happy enough. Thanks for your overview!

My copy is also extremely good. There's a little bit of surface noise on Side C, but you have to listen very hard (with headphones) to hear it. On the whole it's a very nice clean pressing revealing some very fine percussive detail. My only criticism might be of the mastering; there's rather more dynamic compression than I would like. I wonder how the mastering compares with the original releases of these songs.Setup (admittedly modest):Pro-ject Essential II turntableOrtofon OM10 stylusYamaha RX-V367 receiverTwo-core 6 amp 'speaker' cableAcoustic Solutions AV120 Mk 2 speakersSennheiser HD206 headphones
