The Chiffons' debut reached #1 on the Billboard (US) charts for 4 weeks in the spring of '63 and began a run of 3 US top 40 Chiffons hits containing "Fine" in the title. The single also reached the UK top 40, peaking at #16 and impressively matching the 12 weeks spent on the US top 40. Sometimes overlooked as a pop classic, the song's melody became the focus a decade later when a lawsuit was directed at George Harrison's 1970 chart topper, "My Sweet Lord" for plagiarism. "He's So Fine" remains The Chiffons' biggest hit and like the flip side, "Oh My Lover" (another sub-2 minute pop ditty) was penned by the band's manager, Ronald Mack.
